How experimental do you like your music? Exciting artist Nwando Ebizie aka Lady Vendredi channels her love for Afrofuturism and diasporic dance forms into a sound entirely her own. Heralded as 'pure New Orleans' by Hot 8 Brass Band and already receiving heat from Gilles Peterson, Floating Points and Ty, this is an exciting debut by a singular artist.
On new single “What Time Is It” Vendredi and her band, the Vendettas create a cacophony of juxtaposed sounds blending elements of Vodou rhythms and samba rhythms plus space jazz horns. It all adds up to a wonderfully quirky symphony.
